Legal Analyst

Legal Analysts in our office spend the majority of their time working on criminal assignments. They work to prepare discovery and other legal documents which are electronically filed at court, and they are responsible for preparing the criminal cases and ensuring that all the necessary reports, audios, videos, and other evidence have been obtained for a trial.

We expect our legal analysts to be able to manage a high-volume workload while meeting tight deadlines; prioritize those heavy workloads; and move from task to task as needed - all while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. Our legal analysts have good knowledge of legal terminology, forms, methods, and procedures; legal/litigation procedures; citation rules; rules of the court; the discovery process; trial preparation; processes; and case file management. While a legal or criminal justice background is not necessary, we do require our applicants to provide two certifications from Job Service verifying that they can type at least 50 wpm.

If you are interested in working in our office as a legal assistant, please use the City's online application process.
