The Enterprise Division represents the Department of Aviation (Boise Airport), the Public Works Department and the Boise City Clerk's office.

Our division represents and counsels the City's elected, appointed, and administrative officials on a day-to-day basis and at public and non-public meetings.  Our clients and customers expect the best legal service from our in-house legal staff.

In the broadest sense, we serve the public, and in the narrowest sense, we serve our clients, the Mayor and City Council, to whom we owe our duty under Idaho State Bar rules.

The Enterprise Division derives its name from providing legal counsel to the City's primary "Enterprise Fund" customers.  Enterprise Funds are generated from a variety of user fees or charges for a public facility or a public utility or for providing goods or services to that public facility or public utility. Enterprise Fund customers like the Boise Airport and the Public Works Department operate in a manner similar to a private business.       

The City maintains six Enterprise Funds:
     Airport Fund
     Sewer Fund
     Geothermal Fund
     Parking Garage Fund
     Solid Waste Fund
     Municipal Irrigation Fund

On a daily basis, we assist our clients and customers with local, state, and federal law and regulatory compliance, including Environmental Protection Agency requirements (and Idaho State Department of Environmental Quality requirements), Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Homeland Security, and Transportation Security regulations.

We constantly strive to strengthen our relationship with our clients, and customers, including those who use Boise's public utility infrastructure and the Boise Airport.
